Tax Information
Sales Taxes
Sales taxes are collected on the sale of all tangible personal property or taxable services. The Town of Pantego has a 2% local sales tax rate.  One and a quarter percent (1.25%) of the Town sales tax goes directly to the Town's General Fund, a quarter of a percent (.25%) goes into the Street Improvement Fund and half of a percent (.50%) goes to the Pantego Economic Development Corporation.  The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts collects the Town sales tax along with the state sales tax, then remits collections to the Town of Pantego quarterly after deducting a collection fee.  Sales tax has become a growing portion of tax revenue for the Town as the business community continues to grow.

The Tarrant Appraisal District determines the value of all taxable property within the Town of Pantego. Each October, annual property tax statements are mailed to you or your mortgage company by the Tarrant County Tax Assessor Collector, not by the Town of Pantego.  The Town has contracted with the Tarrant County Tax Assessor Collector to handle the property tax billings and collections for the Town of Pantego property owners.

Every year, the Town of Pantego Council adopts a tax rate along with the budget in September.  The total tax rate is comprised of two elements: maintenance/operations and debt service rates.
