Board of Directors
The business and property of the corporation is managed and controlled by a board of seven directors. City Manager Matt Fielder serves as the Executive Director to the PEDC.
 


Citizens appointed to serve as Directors are: 

Danny Lakey, PEDC President 

Danny Lakey and family are residents of Pantego.  Mr. Lakey owns Shirt Werx in the Park Row Shopping Center. Danny is interested in the maintenance and future enhancements for Bicentennial Park as well as working with Park Row and Pioneer Parkway Shopping Centers and Pantego Business.

Don Surratt, PEDC Vice President

Don Surratt currently serves the Town of Pantego as both Councilmember, Place 5 as well as Vice President for the Pantego Economic Development Corporation. Don grew up in Pantego and has been a Pantego resident for more than 30 years.  He currently works at an aerospace manufacturing company as a Project Engineer.  Prior Pantego volunteer positions include ZBA, Citizens Ad Hoc Water Committee, Pantego Royalty Owners Association, Secretary and Director of the Pantego Economic Development Corporation. Don believes in accountability with our Town
Government, is open to new ideas, closely watches budgets and expenditures, and would like to see our business base grow in conjunction with economic development and the PEDC.  Don has also been active in recommending additional noise control measures, soil testing and gas analysis at our well site to mitigate, to the extent possible, citizen concerns who live adjacent to the Pantego gas well site.


 Fred Adair, Secretary

Fred Adair currently serves the Town of Pantego as both Councilmember, Place 1 as well as Secretary for the Pantego Economic Development Corporation. Fred Adair was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2012. He has been a resident of Pantego for over 25 years, and is a manufacturing project engineer for Triumph Aerostructures. Mr. Adair is committed to the promotion of high quality business development in the town and to ongoing businesses retention activities.

 Steve Kunkel, Director 
 
Steve Kunkel was appointed to the Pantego Economic Development Corporation in 2016.  Steve is the owner of Steven J. Kunkel and Associates, Inc. a professional real estate service firm.    



Mickey Scott, Director

Mickey Scott was appointed to the Pantego Economic Development Corporation in
2016 and is the Allstate Agency Owner here. He has been a resident of Arlington for 35 years. Mickey appreciates the opportunity to work with local government, citizens, and business owners to improve the business climate in Pantego.  His favorite hobbies are golf, fishing, and coaching in all YMCA youth leagues.  Mickey especially enjoys spending time with his wife (Svetlana) and children (Anna and Aaron).

Jason Williams, Director

Jason Williams was appointed to the Pantego Economic Development Corporation in 2018. He has formerly served Pantego as the Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem and Town Council member Place 4.  He haalso previously served on the Pantego Economic Development Corporation, the Pantego Parks and Recreation Board, and the ad hoc Citizen’s Special Water Committee.  In addition, he has been the Town Council liason to the Parks and Recreation Board. 

Professionally, Jason is the Associate Vice President for Enrollment at a local university, and is also an Adjunct Professor in the fields of Marketing and Hospitality.  He is the Chairman of the NCAA Compliance Committee and serves on various other committees as well.  He has served as the Vice Chairman of the North Texas Collegiate Consortium and has also served on the Board of Directors for the HEB and Colleyville Area Chambers of Commerce where his institution was awarded “Business of the Year”.  He has also served on the Planning Board of the Dallas Ft Worth Area Tourism Council and has been a member of over 20 different professional organizations.

Jason has also served on the Board of Directors for the Arlington Parks and Recreation Board, been a member of the Arlington High Cheer Booster Club, was a member of the Rotary Club, and has served on numerous committees for fundraising events.

As a marketing professional for almost 25 years, Jason understands how to grow the economy through a strong business environment.  His vision includes improvements to our current business community and infrastructure, through many sources including the wise use of tax-payer funds, which will lead to the retention of current businesses while also attracting the right new businesses.
